Is there parking available at Electric Gamebox?
Unfortunately not, however, there are a few parking options available nearby including the Union Car Park on Great Suffolk Street (please note that they only accept cash) and some on-street parking which is metered.
Is there a place to store bikes at Electric Gamebox?
We don’t have a specific bike rack available, however there are various options in the surrounding area including fencing and lampposts where bikes could be locked. For Santander Cycles, there are docking points within 5 minutes walk of the unit - at Southwark Station and on Blackfriars Road.
What should I do if I'm running late for my booking?
While we can't promise that we'll be able to fit you in, the best thing to do is turn up as close to your booking time as possible (remember, your arrival time is 10 minutes before the session is due to start) and our team will do everything they can to get you into a Gamebox. Please be aware that this may include playing a shorter game.
What is the age suitability?
We recommend the adventures are suitable for ages 5+, but you know your children best and we’re happy to accommodate younger players too! Any participants under the age of 5 years will not be able to play but allowed into the Gamebox at their guardian's own risk, and only if the full group size does not exceed 6 per Gamebox booked. There must be at least one participating adult (18+) per Gamebox with children under 12. Please be aware of small children in the Gamebox with you as the lighting can be dim and players are very active! Those aged 12+ may play unaccompanied by adults. US specific: Ages 12-17 can play unaccompanied, but will require an adult (18+) to sign the waiver on their behalf upon arrival.
My child is under 5, can they play?
We have done a lot of testing and found that, although children under 5 years enjoy the lights and music, the adventures themselves can be too challenging to engage with properly. This is only guidance, and you are welcome to bring your child to play if you think they would enjoy it. We recommend our junior games for children aged under 10, you can find these under the filter on the checkout flow. A gentle reminder that the equipment in the Gamebox is pretty expensive, so we ask kids not to hit the walls or knock off their head trackers.
How does pricing work?
We have different length adventures (30 minutes or 60 minutes) as well as peak and off peak pricing, so the amount will change depending on what adventure you’d like to play and when you want to visit us! You'll be able to see prices when you're booking your tickets.
What should I wear?
Please wear sensible footwear: flat shoes or trainers, no open toes or heels. We advise wearing just one layer, as you may get warm when being active in the Gamebox!
Are there any physical requirements?
You will be moving around your Gamebox as the controller of the game, however our games aren’t too physical and all activity is contained in one Gamebox, so you don’t need a specific level of fitness to play.
Can I bring my phone with me?
Absolutely! Feel free to take your phone in and get ready for some great photo ops in the Gamebox while you play. Remember to tag us @ElectricGamebox when you post!
Can I store my stuff?
We have lockers for small bags and coats, however we do not have storage for large items such as suitcases or bikes inside our venues. Please seek alternative arrangements for storing such items. Storage of pushchairs / strollers may be able to be accommodated, but space is limited so please contact us in advance if this is something you need and we’ll see what we can do.
Will I be put with other groups?
No, you won’t be put in with another group. Bookings are private and you will only be joined in your Gamebox by those you booked to play alongside, even if there’s only 2 of you.
If I have a disability or access requirements can I still take part in the games?
Most disabilities and access requirements can be accommodated but we want to make sure the games are safe and enjoyable for everyone, so if you’re not sure, please get in touch before booking and we can help you figure it out. For any players with photosensitive conditions please be aware that our adventures contain digital projections that are a source of flickering light. Please contact us if you have any questions and we’ll be happy to discuss.
Do you have discounted carer tickets?
We offer one free carer ticket per Gamebox. These are issued on a trust based system, please get in touch with us via our contact us page if you feel you're entitled to this.
Can I play if I'm pregnant?
Playing Electric Gamebox is a physical activity, with lots of moving around on your feet. While we have no restrictions on pregnant players, every person’s pregnancy is different and we defer to your own judgement on whether you should play. If you’d like extra support or advice on which games are less physical then contact our Guest Support team via firstname.lastname@example.org
